Around 47,000 children starting Primary One in Scotland next August will each receive a free Welcome to School Bag in blue, green, pink, red or yellow. Edinburgh firm APS Group has won a two-year contract worth £1.35m a year to pack and deliver them. Each bag holds a pencil case, stationery, a notebook, a water bottle and reading and maths resources for use at home.
