Europe rejects Russia's pick for Ukraine peace talks
Europe's leaders are making it clear that Russia won't get to pick who represents them in any future Ukraine peace talks. EU foreign ministers, meeting in Cyprus on Thursday, rejected Russia's earlier suggestion of former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. They want a united European front, with foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas calling Russia's suggestion a "trap".
