EU, China start talks over €360bn trade gap
The EU and China have begun three months of talks to avert a trade war over the bloc's huge €360 billion annual import/export gap. This agreement, which marks their first joint statement in seven years, follows weeks of threats from China if the EU imposed measures to stop the flood of goods. The EU's trade commissioner, Maroš Šefčovič, hopes for "tangible results" before an October meeting in Beijing.
