EU and UK grain harvest to drop by 23.4 million tonnes
Total grain production across the European Union and the UK is expected to fall to 286.6 million tonnes in 2026, a decrease of 23.4 million tonnes from last year. A recent heatwave has particularly affected wheat and corn crops, causing the significant reduction. France's corn harvest is predicted to reach its lowest level in more than 20 years, with an estimated 9.4 million tonnes, a reduction from last year's 13.8 million tonnes.
