English winemakers anticipate a record harvest from 14 September

English sparkling winemakers are predicting their earliest grape harvest ever, starting on 14 September, after a scorching summer ripened grapes quickly. A prominent producer, Nyetimber, anticipates harvesting nearly 2,500 metric tons of grapes, which could yield more than 1.5 million bottles of wine. Despite late spring frosts and drought, hot, sunny weather has concentrated sugar in the grapes, suggesting a fantastic quality vintage for 2026.
