England's schools lose 1,900 teachers, despite meeting targets

England's state schools have fewer teachers for the second year running, continuing a worrying trend for education. New government figures show around 1,900 fewer teachers this year, even though ministers claim they're meeting recruitment targets. Only 41,000 new teachers joined the profession, the lowest number seen in at least 15 years.
