England's nature restoration plan by 2030 criticised as 'insufficient'
The government's new plan to restore 30% of nature in England by 2030 has been called "pathetic" and "completely insufficient" by critics. The strategy relies on landowners voluntarily protecting nature, rather than creating new legal protections across more land. As it stands, just 7% of England's land area satisfies the 30by30 criteria, leaving four years to achieve the objective.
