England schools must tell parents about gender questions

New legally binding rules instruct English schools to involve families in the vast majority of cases where pupils question their identity. This advice mandates that toilets and sports remain single-sex without exception, adding that social transition for primary students is highly unusual. Dr Hilary Cass endorsed the measures as a positive step that prioritises a student's best interests over their immediate desires.
