Over the next two years, England and Wales will introduce specialist courts dedicated to handling cases of rape and sexual offences. By 2028, each Crown Court is scheduled to feature a minimum of one courtroom equipped for these proceedings, supported by approximately £23 million from the Ministry of Justice's budget. From next month, trials will also be given a fixed date.
