Electric car repairs cost 30% more, making insurance pricier

Repairing electric vehicles is approximately 30% more expensive and requires 14% more time compared with petrol or diesel models. Many electric car components are glued together to save weight, meaning whole systems must be replaced for minor damage. Thatcham Research is helping manufacturers design cars that are easier and cheaper to repair.
