Easyjet gives Castlelake until 7 August to make a firm takeover offer

The budget airline moved the cut-off point so the asset manager can compete with a £5.5bn buyout from investment giant Apollo. Executives at the carrier still want investors to accept the Apollo offer, which prices the company's stock at £7.15 per share. This financial interest follows a tough quarter for the firm, which saw recent profits fall by 70% because of expensive fuel.
