EasyJet agrees in principle to £5.2 billion takeover offer from US firm

Low-cost airline EasyJet has reached an agreement with US investment firm Castlelake for a potential takeover worth about £5.2 billion. Castlelake made its latest proposal on 4 July, offering £6.90 per share after EasyJet rejected four previous bids. The deal isn't confirmed yet, as the US firm needs regulatory approvals, including EU rules requiring 51% European ownership.
