Earth could survive Sun's death, new models suggest
Forget the fiery apocalypse – fresh models hint our planet might actually dodge being swallowed when the Sun eventually expands. While Mercury and Venus are still toast, Earth could escape to a wider orbit as the dying Sun sheds its mass. Scientists looked at a star like our Sun dying 200 light-years away and did new calculations to work this out.
