Electronic Arts is closing BioWare, the studio behind Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and has cancelled the early-stage next Mass Effect game. The studio's Edmonton office in Canada will shut, with about 50 BioWare staff among roughly 400 jobs being cut across EA, around 3% of its workforce. It is EA's first major shake-up since its $55bn takeover by a Saudi-led investor group in August.
