E-scooter hits police officer near Buckingham Palace

Roads beside the royal residence were shut for hours after a collision left two men needing urgent treatment. An e-scooter rider and a police officer were taken to a major trauma centre following the incident near Buckingham Palace at 16:00 BST on Friday. Officers blocked Constitution Hill while ambulance crews and a London Air Ambulance team attended, and both injuries were described as not life-threatening.
