Drunk Driver Convicted of Murder for Fatal Christmas Day Rampage in London's West End

Anthony Gilheaney, 31, was found guilty at the Old Bailey of murdering 25-year-old Aiden Chapman during a drink-fueled rampage on Christmas Day 2024. The disqualified driver used his Mercedes as a weapon in Shaftesbury Avenue, launching unprovoked attacks on five victims with apparent racist and homophobic motivations. Chapman died from catastrophic brain damage on New Year's Eve, while four others were injured. Gilheaney faces sentencing on January 30, 2026.
