Derailment and signal failure cause South East rail chaos
Rail services across South East England remain heavily affected after a train came off the tracks at a Selhurst depot and a separate signalling fault occurred close to London Blackfriars. Although Govia Thameslink Railway has withdrawn its earlier advice against travelling, disruption is expected to persist. Southern and Gatwick Express have cautioned passengers to expect widespread cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes. Operators are honouring tickets on other routes while repair teams address the problems impacting the network.
