DeepSeek plans model price hike after significant rise in demand
Chinese AI start-up DeepSeek plans a "significant" price increase for its API services soon, despite fierce competition, as its latest cheap model has surged in popularity. Its DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 model is currently priced at approximately US$0.03 per task, which is roughly 105 times less expensive than Anthropic's Claude Fable 5. Experts say DeepSeek can offer low prices thanks to clever architectural design and efficient training strategies.
