Deadly squirrelpox virus confirmed in Clackmannanshire's red squirrel population
The highly contagious squirrelpox virus, which is fatal to native red squirrels, has been found in Clackmannanshire. Cases were recorded near Dollar last month, which means the virus has now been confirmed north of Scotland's central belt on just two occasions. People are now being asked to remove garden feeders for at least two weeks to help control the disease's spread.
