David Miliband Calls For Wider EU Debate
Businesses and voters could see only limited economic gains from Britain's current talks with Europe, according to David Miliband. Speaking after reports emerged about a proposed goods-only market deal with the EU, the former foreign secretary said ministers should build broader public backing before discussing rejoining the bloc. He said forecasts suggested the plans might add £9bn by 2040 to Britain's £3tn economy.
