Counter-terrorism police now lead Ann Widdecombe murder investigation

Counter-terrorism police are now leading the inquiry into the alleged murder of former MP Ann Widdecombe, after receiving fresh information and evidence. Widdecombe, 78, was found dead with serious injuries at her Devon home on Thursday, July 9. A 28-year-old man from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, was arrested on Saturday and has since been re-arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.
