Councils demand hundreds of pounds for free park and beach exercise classes

A report by the Campaign for Freedom in Everyday Life shows 19 local authorities demand these commercial-style licences. People running casual community events, like donation-based yoga or mother-and-baby choirs, are quitting because the costs are too high. Down in Kent, Thanet council asked one woman to hand over £1,200 a year for her morning beach gatherings.
