Cost to fill a family car hits £88 as petrol prices reach 160p

The RAC motoring group says a tank of diesel is now £10 more expensive, climbing to 179p a litre. Global oil costs jumped on Friday after Iranian forces struck two ships in the Strait of Hormuz, following recent US attacks. The AA warned these increases come at a terrible time for about 20.5 million UK motorists planning summer getaway trips.
