Corbyn Tables Bill to Require Parliament Vote on UK Base Use
Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has introduced the Military Action (Parliamentary Approval) (No.2) Bill, requiring parliamentary consent before UK military bases can be used by foreign nations for armed conflict. The bill is co-sponsored by Labour MPs including Diane Abbott and John McDonnell, as well as Green and independent MPs. It was tabled in response to Prime Minister Starmer's decision to allow the US to use British bases for operations against Iranian missile sites.
