Consumer mood falls to lowest level since 2023

Households are showing deeper worry about prices as fuel costs squeeze budgets. Reuters reported that GfK's consumer confidence index fell in April to its weakest level since October 2023. The measure dropped to minus 25 from minus 21 in March, matching the level expected in a Reuters poll of economists.
