Common hormone condition in women quadruples heart disease risk

A new US study indicated that women diagnosed with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS) face a fourfold increase in their susceptibility to heart disease. Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome affects about one in eight UK women, impacting periods, fertility, and mood. Experts say doctors need more training and patients need better awareness of cardiovascular risk for early prevention.
