City of London can construct new high-rises near Tower of London

The City of London's skyscraper proposals received approval on Thursday, even though conservationists contended they would detract from the Tower of London's vistas. The Planning Inspectorate sided with the City of London over Historic England, the government's heritage advisory body. The decision allows for up to one million more square feet of office space.
