The US Central Intelligence Agency has released a new Mandarin-language video aimed at encouraging members of China’s People’s Liberation Army to contact the agency with information, tapping into unrest following recent purges of senior military leaders. The short film, shown on YouTube and other platforms, depicts a fictional officer disillusioned with China’s leadership and urges insiders to come forward. Beijing has criticised the initiative as interference, underscoring deepening intelligence tensions between Washington and Beijing.
