China opposes UK nationalising British Steel from Jingye

China's commerce ministry expressed strong dissatisfaction on Friday with the UK government's decision to nationalise British Steel. The ministry stated that the move seriously hurt Jingye Group's rights and undermined Chinese companies' confidence in investing in the UK. The UK government took control of the company on Thursday to protect jobs and ensure a domestic steel supply.
