Charing Cross and Waterloo East close for three weeks from Sunday

Two major London train stations, Charing Cross and Waterloo East, will shut for 22 days starting Sunday for a £20 million engineering project. Services on the Southeastern network will be affected, with some trains diverted to other London stations or ending at London Bridge. Network Rail says the work will improve reliability and safety, replacing 36-year-old rail equipment and repairing Hungerford Bridge.
