Cancer drug could treat osteoporosis and mid-life weight gain
New research suggests an experimental cancer drug, CADD522, could help women stay slim and prevent bone loss after menopause. Scientists found the drug strengthened bones and reduced body fat in post-menopausal mice, even though they ate the same amount of food. Dr Darrell Green from the University of East Anglia, who led the study, hopes this could lead to new osteoporosis treatments.
