Burnham to become Labour leader and prime minister Monday

Andy Burnham is set to outline a fresh direction for Britain in a speech on Friday, coinciding with his confirmation as the new Labour leader. Subsequently, he is scheduled to assume the role of prime minister, succeeding Sir Keir Starmer, on Monday. Burnham established his status as the only contender for leadership, having received endorsements from 379 Labour MPs and the majority of trade unions.
