Burnham caps most bus fares in England at £2

Most single bus fares in England will be capped at £2 from January 2027, Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced, cutting a third off the current £3 limit. The move applies outside London and is backed by £454 million, including funding for devolved governments to do the same. Burnham introduced a £2 cap in Greater Manchester as mayor and is now extending the idea across the country.
