British woman dies at French campsite during heatwave

An elderly British woman has died while staying at a campsite in western France as extreme temperatures grip Europe. She fell ill at the Baie d’Aunis site in Tranche-sur-Mer, where she was with her husband. The death was reported as France recorded its hottest day ever on Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 43.8C in Palluau.
