British Museum evacuated after smoke detected near Bayeux Tapestry
On Thursday evening, an evacuation occurred at the British Museum when smoke was found during a Bayeux Tapestry exhibition. Firefighters were on site and handed responsibility back to the museum's management team at 7:27 PM. The exhibition, which opened on September 10, is the first time the 11th-century embroidery has been displayed in the UK.
