British firms get priority for defence contracts

British companies will now get priority for defence contracts, a move designed to protect UK jobs and strengthen local supply chains. Defence Secretary John Healey announced the new approach on Tuesday, saying he's 'unashamedly pro-Britain' in spending decisions. This means more national security exemptions will be used to ensure capabilities are built in Britain.
