Britain Signs £3.7bn Gulf Trade Agreement
British exporters could gain wider access to Gulf markets after ministers agreed a new trade pact with six Middle East countries. Britain announced on Wednesday it had secured a long-term deal with the Gulf Cooperation Council worth £3.7 billion annually, covering sectors including food, aerospace and services. The agreement removes tariffs on approximately two-thirds of UK goods immediately, rising to 93% over ten years, and includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
