Britain Didn’t Join the Strike on Iran — So Why Are RAF Jets Already in Action?

Britain has expanded its role in the escalating Middle East conflict following US-Israeli strikes on Iran. While the UK did not join the initial attacks, Prime Minister Keir Starmer allowed US bombers to operate from British bases for defensive missions. RAF Typhoon and F-35 jets have intercepted Iranian drones and protected Gulf allies including Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan. The UK has also reinforced forces in Cyprus and prepared naval deployments, signalling deeper involvement even as officials insist the mission remains defensive.
