Brent recorded 35,000 fly-tipping cases in one year
The London borough of Brent has been named England's fly-tipping capital after logging 35,000 incidents in a single year. New national figures for 2024–25, due out on the same day, are expected to show the problem has barely improved, with England recording around one million cases per year. Brent Council says a team of enforcement officers is slowly bringing the numbers down. Campaign group Clean Up Britain is calling for maximum fines of £20,000 to deter offenders.
