Brent crude hits $72.26, WTI $69.01 before US holiday.
Higher oil prices could affect fuel costs if gains continue. Traders pushed crude prices slightly higher on Friday before the US Independence Day weekend as hopes for peace between the United States and Iran remained in place. Brent crude reached $72.26 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate traded at $69.01 after both benchmarks touched their lowest levels since late February.
