Birmingham bin strike end within sight after new offer

Birmingham residents may see an end to the 16-month bin strike, which left 17,000 tonnes of uncollected rubbish across the city. Council leader John Cotton said on Monday that a new improved offer can be made to refuse workers. The dispute began in March 2025 over proposed pay cuts and role changes for staff.
