Big Tech accused of blocking researchers studying social media risks

Social media researchers in Europe say they face obstacles and court battles to get data from platforms like X and TikTok, despite a new EU law. The Digital Services Act (DSA) was meant to give vetted academics access to data to study systemic risks. Researchers believe this lack of access creates "black holes" in understanding how platforms recommend content.
