Bezos-backed group buys 30% of Liverpool FC for £1.65bn

A consortium including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin has bought about a third of Liverpool FC. The deal, led by British-Indian businessman Amit Bhatia, values the Premier League club at £5.5bn. Bhatia will become Liverpool's vice-chairman, joining an expanded board, but the club's current owners will keep majority control.
