Berkshire Hathaway buys £8 billion of Alphabet stock, repurchases its own shares
Warren Buffett's firm, Berkshire Hathaway, spent about $10 billion on shares in Google's parent company, Alphabet, and bought back around $4.5 billion of its own stock. Berkshire Hathaway's cash holdings were nearly $400 billion, but this activity brought them down to $365.5 billion. Most of the share repurchases, the first in over two years, happened in June.
