Beadnell population rises after ban on new second homes
The Northumberland village of Beadnell restricted property on new building sites to permanent residents nearly eight years ago. Local campaigner Jennifer Hall states that the number of villagers has subsequently increased by over 10 per cent. This rule facilitated the construction of 45 houses at The Kilns for full-time living only. Despite this progress, 2021 census data reveals 64 per cent of properties remain holiday accommodation.
