BBC cutting shows and channels to save £80m

This content cut will see fewer shows made and TV channels reviewed as the BBC adapts to audiences moving online. Matt Brittin, the BBC's new director general, announced the £80 million saving plan to staff in an email on Wednesday. These changes are part of wider BBC plans to cut £500 million over three years, including up to 2,000 staff roles.
