BBC Director-General Tim Davie and News CEO Deborah Turness both resigned following intense criticism over a Panorama documentary that edited Donald Trump's January 6, 2021 speech. The Telegraph exposed leaked BBC internal memos revealing the documentary misleadingly edited Trump's remarks by removing sections where he called for peaceful demonstration. Davie took ultimate responsibility for mistakes while Turness said the controversy was damaging the BBC institution she loves.
