BAT Shares Fall After Lower Cigarette Sales Forecast

Investors saw the tobacco group’s stock lose value after weaker expectations for traditional smoking products offset stronger prospects for newer nicotine items. British American Tobacco kept its 2026 guidance unchanged on 2 June while increasing its forecast for revenue growth from alternatives such as vapes and nicotine pouches. It now expects global cigarette industry volumes to decline by about 2.5%, compared with an earlier estimate of around 2%.
