Barclays and Lloyds join push to bring £33bn into UK markets

A report led by the Treasury’s wholesale digital markets champion says faster use of tokenised financial assets could add up to £33bn to the UK economy. Barclays and Lloyds are among 54 financial firms supporting a 12-month plan to modernise trading and settlement. The report also estimates the change could raise an extra £14bn in tax over the next decade.
