Bank of England economist defends rate rise votes
Higher prices could stay for longer if inflation remains above target, affecting household costs. Huw Pill voted twice to raise interest rates to 4 per cent, including as the only supporter in April, and said he isn't seeking attention by disagreeing with colleagues. In June, Megan Greene also backed a rise, while the committee kept rates at 3.75 per cent.
